Venue History

Cogges manor farmhouse sits on the site of a scheduled ancient monument, with parts of the building dating back to the 13th century. Many families have lived and died in the Manor including Wadard, who appears as a Norman knight riding a horse on the Bayeux tapestry. Cogges manor has passed through the hands of royalty including King Henry VII and VIII who later passed the land over to Thomas Pope, the founder of Trinity College Oxford. The Mawle family lived in the Manor until 1968, till this day pictures can be seen hanging on the walls.
