Your ghost hunt at the incredible Manor Farm, near Southampton, will deliver you that spine-tingling ghost hunt that you have been craving. The land here has been farmed for over 600 years and the ancient duck pond is mentioned in the Domesday book, therefore there is plenty of history to make for a spooky night of ghost hunting.
On your ghost hunt at Manor Farm you will have exclusive night-time access to the haunted 15th century farmhouse, the chilling wartime cottage and the creepy old barns that creak and bang in high winds; just like the horror movies! As well as this, and what is totally unique, you will investigate the deconsecrated chancel of the 13th century St. Bartholomew’s church, surrounded by graves that are hundreds of years old. Just imagine witnessing the reported dark hooded figure, known to cast it’s shadow on the stonework, getting larger as if something is closing in behind you.

Your Event
On a ghost hunt with Haunted Houses you will have exclusive access to the building/location during the evening. You will learn all about ghost hunting and the techniques used to encourage paranormal activity. We have a whole host of scientific ghost hunt equipment for you to use to aid communication with the spirits. You can take part in Ouija boards, glass divination and table tipping; the more traditional ghost hunt techniques. Or simply sitting in the dark and asking for the spirits to interact with you. Lone vigils (ghost hunting alone) will also be offered where available.
During your evening you will be split into smaller groups so you can get the most out of your experience. If you are new to ghost hunting we warn you now – by the end of the night you may just become addicted to the fascinating and intriguing world of ghost hunting.

Reported Ghosts
Manor Farm is arguably a very haunted location with lots of history spanning over a great deal of years. In recent history there have been many claims of ghostly activity, and the current staff do not doubt its existence even today, with lots occurrences happening almost weekly.
The 15th Century Farmhouse brings in investigators of the paranormal from around the area and beyond. Offensive smells have often been reported… to then just vanish as if they were never there! Footsteps and banging doors have been heard in the still of the night. Dark figures have been witnessed in the day as well as in the night time too. Disembodied voices, seemingly of children playing are heard coming from the barn, with childlike laughter that echoes through the air. Hooded figures have been seen moving around the graveyard. Could they be full body apparitions of monks, known to have frequented the church 13th century church whilst moving from Beaulieau to Netley Abbey.
Former farm workers in Victorian dress have been reported, taps, bangs, peculiar noises too. Could this be communication from spirits which are heavily reported here. Are you ready to hopefully discover for yourself what still haunts?
Venue History
Sitting near the rural Village of in Bursledon near Southampton, this beautiful and historic farm and museum is located on 400 acres of former farmland and tells the story of hundreds of years of history. Manor Farm was once a very isolated 15th Century farmhouse, Built in the 1400s, the farmhouse’s medieval origins can still be seen to this day.
The age-old duck pond and neighbouring St Bartholomew’s Church are both mentioned in the Domesday Book as it is thought this site was the village of Botley which moved further away at some point. The chancel is all that remains of this 13th Century church which until the 1800s, was the parish church of Botley. The location was a working farm for over 600 years making it an ideal site for the BBC to film its historical drama “Wartime Farm” here in 2012.
